1. Look for a place that has been used for camping before.

3. Consider possible rains.

Look carefully at the surrounding terrain. Think about where the falling water will collect. You can’t just guess it won’t rain. Never be unprepared while camping. Places most prone to flooding? The deserts. If you’re planning to go camping in the desert, it’s a good idea to take this issue seriously. The potential for frequent flooding is very high. Why? Because the rocky landscape of the desert does not absorb water well.
4. Don’t forget to look up and around you.

If you’re camping in the hot summer months, I’m sure you don’t want your tent to get so hot that you can’t get inside. Therefore my advice is to try to keep the tent in the shade. Maybe something that will help choosing the right place is to imagine how the sun will move during the day.
In winter I suggest the opposite. Try to have your tent as exposed to the sun as possible so that it warms up a bit. The winter sun is not very hot, so it will not be a problem to hang out in the tent.
We know that sun exposure can be very important for you. In order to find the perfect place with shade and light, you should not violate any of the tips above. It is very important not to forget this.
7. Keep the right distance from water sources.
It is a very good idea to consider water sources near the camp. Knowing well enough where the water sources are, helps you calculate the amount of water you will need with you. You don’t want to overload yourself or take in less than the water you need.
As a general guideline, the camp should have a water source at least 200 meters away, but make sure you are properly informed before making a decision.
When you arrive at the campsite, instead of getting out of the car and pitching your tent the second you arrive, stop and get quiet. Hear the sound of wind and water. Look carefully at the trees. not just to enjoy their soothing appearance. But to see who is the safest to stay. Walk and observe carefully around the area.
